LIFTALL'S FIRST FUNDRAISER IS A HUGE SUCCESS!!

On Monday, May 11th, 2015, LIFTALL held their first ever fundraiser at Lola's kitchen, a popular and established restaurant/bar in Long Beach, NY.  As a new 501(c)(3) not for profit, LIFTALL's mission is to enhance the lives of children and adults through tennis, especially those who may not otherwise experience the sport.  The goal of the fundraiser was to raise money for continued programming in the Long Beach and surrounding areas.

And it was a GREAT night for all!!.  The event tickets and raffle tickets sold for the event exceeded first year expectations. "The generosity of our donors was incredible..." said Chuck Russell, the Executive Director of LIFTALL.  "It started with our volunteers, especially Annemarie Mahoney and Diane Meyers.  They unselfishly spent their time selling event tickets, helping to acquire the great raffle gifts given out that night, coordinating the evenings activities, and more".  The raffle prizes ranged from a manicure, to a spa day, to wine to 1 hour of court time on a showcase US Open court.  The Master of Ceremonies, Pete Salvato, is someone Chuck had worked with previously at numerous Make a Wish fundraisers they had organized together.  The band for the evening, Blu Mojo, donated their time to help make the night special.  And the dancers all seemed to appreciate it!  The money raised at the event has been used for continued programming, including at the MLK Center in Long Beach, and also for much needed equipment.

The first "Volunteer of the Year" award was given to Matt Mahoney for his contributions.  But the overall group of volunteers was also recognized as well.  Without them, the foundation could not operate.  Lola's was packed, and a fabulous time was had by all.

Our 2016 fundraiser promises to be even bigger and better.  Make sure you are a part of it!! Don't miss out and great night that also celebrates the sport!!
